In the beginning of this class, I was worried that my photo-taking ability would be lightyears behind the rest of the class, and I would never be able to catch up. However, as soon as I picked up the camera, it seemed as if my photos were coming out pretty clear, and well orchestrated, even when I was in manual mode. When we began using photoshop, a was anxious because I've never used a program like it before, and I didn't know the first thing about editing photos. Although this may be true, with some help from my fellow classmates, I was able to secure some basic photo editing skills, and was able to properly follow photoshop tutorials with ease. In this assignment, we were instructed to create a 5x5 image that consists of some kind of pun or play on words.
In this assignment, we were instructed to search the internet to find photoshop tutorials, to test our skill in photoshop. In this photo, I removed the watermark, added some extra layers of mist and fog, and added the castle and castle tower. In this photo, I removed the watermark, changed the background to a more dense forest, as well as added and blended a waterfall into the middle ground of the photo.
For this assignment, I chose to take photos of the landscape that surrounds the Saline High School, to portray the beauty of the natural world. Aperture - f/4 Shutter Speed - 1/1000 ISO - 125 During the course of taking these photos, I faced multiple difficulties. First off, some of the images had a distracting lens flare from the sun. And secondly, occasional foliage would take up space in the photo an blur the image.
For this assignment, I chose people. I used one of my old friends from middle school as a subject. Aperture - f/3.2 Shutter Speed - 1/25 ISO - 1600 The low-light in my house at the time proved difficult to work with, making the photos come out a bit grainy. It would've been more successful if the photos were taken in the day/ better light.
The purpose of this assignment was to take multiple photos of a subject, and arrange them in photoshop to make it appear as if there were multiple of the subject in one picture. This assignment had it's difficulties, however, it was very fun. Those difficulties include working with shadows, getting the camera set up, and outlining the subject in photoshop. Overall, it was a very interesting assignment.
For this assignment I chose animal; for the subject, I took pictures of my dog, Kano. Aperture - f/4.5 Shutter Speed - 1/8 ISO - 800 These photos were difficult to organize, mostly due to the fact that my dog kept moving, and making the photo come out blurry, as well as attempting to pose him to fit into the frame.
In this assignment, we were instructed to take pictures of the environment around the school, and take the images into photoshop to alter them, creating a story or separate context. This assignment took a lot of patience, and was difficult to come up with a theme or idea for the photo. I did not enjoy this assignment very much, because of the difficulty of finding high resolution images on the internet.
For this photo assignment, I chose black and white. I used basic composition technique to take the photo, and I then turned the photo black and white in photoshop. Aperture - f/4
Shutter Speed - 1/50 ISO - 100 In this assignment, we were tasked with taking and creating panoramic photos of an environment. While doing this assignment, I learned how to take photos and organize them into a panoramic in photoshop. Some problems I had with this assignment was occasional warping of the photos.
